GTA 6 on PC: what we know and how to get your PC ready

Updated 2026-10-20 · Auf Deutsch lesen

Grand Theft Auto VI comes out on November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. A PC version has not been announced yet. Here is what is known and what you can already do on your PC.

Is GTA 6 coming to PC?

Not at launch. Take-Two's CEO Strauss Zelnick said in May 2026 that Rockstar always starts on console. A PC version is very likely later, but there is no date. For comparison: GTA V came to consoles in September 2013 and to PC in April 2015.

Be careful with sites that offer a "GTA 6 PC download" today. There is no official PC version, these files are fakes and often malware.

What PC will GTA 6 need?

Official PC requirements don't exist yet. GTA 6 is made for PS5 and Xbox Series X, so a PC that plays today's big open-world games well is a good starting point. What matters most:

  • SSD with plenty of free space: open-world games stream the map from the drive
  • 16 GB RAM at least, 32 GB is safer for a game this size
  • A graphics card with 8 GB or more video memory
  • A current processor with 6 cores or more

Get your PC ready now

  • Move your games to an SSD and keep 150 GB or more free
  • Update Windows and your graphics driver
  • Remove programs that start with Windows and you don't need
  • Set your monitor to its full refresh rate in Windows display settings
